BRIEF INTRODUCTION The Zhangshiyan Crag scenic area 1ies in Zanhuang County, the middle part of the Taihang Mountains. It is 100 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang and covers an area of 120 square kilometers. Huang’annao, the highest peak, is 1,774 meters above sea level. The annual rainfall in the scenic area is 747 millimeters and the annual average temperature is 11.5 OC. It is neither hot in summer nor cold in winter. In midsummer, you will have the feeling of " At the sequestered Zhangshiyan Crag, the hot summer turns into cool autumn. " In winter, the stream in the village does not freeze and the peasants needn’t make a fire to keep warm.
The natural ecosystem in the scenic area is well preserved and the rate of coverage of vegetation amounts to more than 80%. In spring, birds sing and flowers give forth their fragrance. In midsummer, the clouds are like a sea and the spring’s water flows. In deep autumn, the whole mountain is full of red leaves. In cold winter, the icicles make a forest. The main sights are Red Rock and Red Cliff, Grotesque Peak and Green Hill, Clear Spring and Flying Waterfall, Birds Singing in the Serene Valley, Ancient Temple and Tablets as well as Forest of Icicles. At the Nine-Heroine Peak, Zhangshiyan Crag has three stromatolites, the drop in height between each stromatolite is 100 to 150 meters. The icicle has a diameter of 5 meters and a height of 100 meters, and the largest natural echo wall in the world may be rated as a world spectacle.

TOURIST GUIDE " Buddha’s aura " appeared at The Fairy Peak, Penholder Peak, Sanzhan and Camel Rock many times. The scene of a mirage once appeared in Loudi Village and Zhafu Village. You are most fortunate if you can see these sights by chance.
SERVICES There are big, medium-sized, and small hotels, equipped with advanced medical facilities. Almost 100 domestic inns are clean and quiet, tastefully laid out. The running water from the mountain spring is clean and healthy. Besides, there are more than 100 various kinds off amous southern and northern dishes and local delicacies for you to try.
HOW TO GET THERE Drive from Beijing along Beijing-Shenzhen Expressway to Yuanshi Exit, go along Yuanzan Road to Zanhuang County Seat, then go along Zanxi Road to Yecaowan and turn left to get there. If you go to Shijiazhuang by train, get off at ShijiaZhuang Railway Station and then go to Shengnan Bus Station at No.161 Shengli Street to take a regular sightseeing bus to get there
