Chenghuang Temple, Chinese: 城隍庙, Pinyin: Chenghuang Miao

Chenghuang Temple was built in Song Dyhasty for commemorating General Jixin of Han Dynasty. So it is alo called Jixin Temple. After rebuilt in Ming Dynasty it was renamed Chenghuang Temple. Unforunately it was badly destroyed by fire in Qing Dynasty, then rebuilt as the layout we can see today. The total area of the temple is 12000 square meters and built area of 4000 square meters. Three gates are martyr, and second gate is theater hall of roll roof is at the north and double eaves main hall is at the back. Wing-rooms and bell drum towers are at the both sides.

There are many restaurants serving the Lanzhou specialties such as Beef Noodles, cold noodles, Saozimian and Jiangshuimian, noodles with jiangshui (a specially-processed sour soup). Besides, the snacks of Huidouzi (a well-boiled peasoup), Niangpizi and Tainpeizi are also well worth a try. You would find all the little trinkets ranging from antique to jade, ancient coin here.
Located at the commercial centre of Lanzhou city, with many distinguished stores on the Zhangye Road, the Chenghuang Temple is truly a fine resort all the year round.
