The Shuishen Temple, ranking first among the five scenic areas of Nanhu Woods Park, is located in the south of Guangling County and separated from downtown by a Chinese traditional arch. It is composed of famous springs and waters, trees, wetland, ancient buildings of Hu Hill and the Revolutionary Martyr Cemetery on Yufeng Hill.
Datong locates in the loess plateau, the geography is complicated and diverse, basically belongs to the temperate zone continental monsoon climate, the average air temperature of year has 6.8 degrees, it is very cold in winter, cooler in summer in Datong, so it is a good place for summer resort. The characteristic here is the big difference in temperature. You had better take one more coat for the algidity in day and night. The best traveling time here is from April to October.

Listed in China’s Famous Springs, the Hu Spring of the Shuishen Temple, a lake, actually, is composed of groups of springs, whose water is pure, and whose current capacity and mineralization degree are 0.55m3 and 0.4-0.6g/liter respectively. These springs surround a small island called Hu Hill on which there is the Shuishen Temple. The temple, also known as Fengshui Ci, was originally built during Beiwei Dynasty. They cover an area of 9,000m2 and are made up of Shengmu Hall, Baigong She, Wenchang Pavilion and Lingying Tower. The layout of these buildings is octagonal and enclosed with verandas. Visitors usually feel the architecture simple, compact and delicate. In summer and autumn, the shining water; in spring and winter, the covering fog make Hu Hill win the praise of “A Second Penglai Island” and “A Small Pot”. Around Hu Hill and on the lake bank, various towering trees grow luxuriantly. Even now, two of the eight famous ancient scenes of Guangling, the Dancing Willow in the Hu Spring and the Bright Moon in the water, are still attractive.

In the streets of Datong City, you can see taxi in different grades. The starting price for all taxi is 6 yuan for the first three kilometers. And then according to different types of taxi, it will charge 1.2 or 1.4 yuan per kilometer starting from the fourth kilometer.

Tips:
1. The temperature in winter is very low. Meanwhile, the indoor and outdoor temperature is quite different. So you need to prepare down jacket, thick sweater, wool trousers, gloves and snow cotton shoes.
2. The road is frozen in winter. It is better to wear snowshoes. Leather Shoes would make you costive.
3. You need to prepare tyre chain for your car. And pay attention to prevent frostbite for your car.

5. It is easy to catch cold in the cold winter. You need to prepare some medicine to cure rheum.
6. The snow is heavy and snow glisten is strong. You need to wear sunglasses to protect you eyes. And it would be better to take nourishing cream and lipstick with you.
